From the supplier: Former Irish public officer Albert Reynolds stressed that Ireland has experienced unceasing conflict since it was partitioned in 1920 by the UK government. Armed conflict was to result from the start of the civil rights movement in the nation in 1969 and, as a result, Ireland has endured 25 years of non-stop violence. Reynolds embarked on a peace process for the nation on Feb 11, 1992. He believes that the objectives he set then are well on their way to being accomplished and that he and many others have created a strong foundation for peace and economic prosperity. He also believes that a cease-fire to the armed hostilities will be restored and talks between concerned parties will be initiated although the negotiations will likely take a substantial amount of time.
